Caution should be taken against sedatives; Major Ravi

GURUVAYUR: Major Ravi opined that the most important challenges facing the country is the increasing drugs consumption of new generation. The Major was delivering the keynote speech at the 106th Mahasamadhi Day celebrations of Shirdi sai Baba at Guruvayur Shirdi sai Mandir. He said that spiritual centres should take the initiative to create social awareness against drug abuse. The spiritual get together inaugurated the Guruvayoor Temple Tantri Brahmashree Dinesan Namboothiripad by lighting the Bhadradeepam.
Since Baba’s samadhi day also happened to be Vijayadashami day, in the morning there were Omkaram, Suprabhatam, Satcharita Parayanam, Vidyarambha, Samadhipuja, poomudal, bhajans, food offering and various service activities. Thiruvathirakali, dance sculpture and Mohiniyattam by Sai Sankari Dance Arts Centre. Maunayogi Swami Harinarayanan, Sadhu Krishnananda Saraswathi, Manalur Gopinath, Ashwathi Sreekumar, Anjurajit and Arun Nambiar led program.
