Values should not be lost in celebrations; Maharshi Mohanji
Guruvayur: Festivals remind us of eternal values that should remain unchanged even in changing times, said Brahmarshi Mohanji, Chairman of the Mohanji Foundation.
He was speaking while inaugurating the Sanjeevani Onam Celebrations and Satsang held in Guruvayur.
He emphasized that celebrations become timeless only when they are conducted without losing their true spirit. Otherwise, they will eventually fade away, he added.
The event was presided over by Swami Harinarayanan, Chairman of Sai Sanjeevani Trust. K.C. Shivadas delivered the keynote address. Director Vijesh Mani, Prashant Verma, Sunil Kumar Vallachira, and Municipal Councillor Renuka Shankar also spoke on the occasion.
As part of the ceremonies, various spiritual activities such as Mahabhishekam, Bhajans, and Prasadam distribution were conducted under the leadership of Sabitha Ranjith and Satheesh Guruvayur.
Kits containing rice, various dishes, and vegetables were distributed to 200 families. New clothes for Onam (Onakkodi) were also distributed. A variety of traditional Onam games such as Pookkalam competition, Uriyadi, and Feeding competition were organized. The Uthradam Sadya (Onam feast) was also held.
Poli Francis, Navya Preman, Joffy Joseph, and Sai Shri Menon led the competitions. In addition, there were various cultural programs.
